# PromptForce: make AI agents employable

> PromptForce gives AI coding agents a badge, a manager, a budget, and a memory, inside your perimeter. Hybrid by design: locally hosted models, subscription seats and API providers run side by side as one ecosystem, on hardware you own.

Every coding model arrives at your codebase a stranger, and leaves the same way. Companies give human engineers a badge, an orientation, a senior at the next desk, review before merge, a budget, and a memory of what worked. AI engineers get an API key. We supply the rest.

## What we ship

### Prefex, the badge and the budget

A local proxy in front of your coding agent's API. It sends each turn to the cheapest model that will pass it, keeps the prompt cache warm, trims what gets re-sent, and carries what a session learned into the next one. One `base_url` change, no code changes. Prompts and keys never leave localhost.

Distils 15 proven projects with 426,792 GitHub stars between them, re-authored in Go against measurements on real traffic, plus a good deal of our own. Every project we learned from is named in <https://www.promptforce.ai/NOTICE.txt>.

### Policy gateway, the security desk

Allow, alert or block on every tool call, judged in-process by an embedded OPA policy bundle, or by your own OPA server. It starts in observe mode, where nothing is blocked and you only watch what your agents do. Signed, hash-chained audit that carries derived facts and never raw arguments. Mapped to CMMC, ISO 42001, the EU AI Act and SOC 2. Early preview.

### ReadyBase, the orientation

Scores a codebase's AI-readiness and hands agents the structural context before they edit: dependencies, co-change history, bus factor, and which files are load-bearing.
